About

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and have been practicing for over 30 years. Throughout my career I have worked in a private practice setting and met with a diverse population of adults, teens, families and couples. In addition to private practice, I’ve worked in a variety of schools throughout the Bay Area providing individual and group therapy.  Although I enjoy working with all age groups, my greatest strength and deepest passion is helping young people navigate the ever-changing waters of adolescence and young adulthood.

Since licensure, I’ve continued to grow and refine my therapeutic skills.  It is important to me to stay informed about adolescent culture, language, music, and trends. Supervising graduate students is one of the ways I stay current. I have supervised in a variety of settings including community mental health, universities, and in the middle and high school environment.

Teaching is another way I have continued to learn.  I’ve taught at UC Berkeley Extension Division, was a member of adjunct faculty at JFK University and on the faculty at the Women’s Therapy Center. I have also been on panels and spoken at schools and parent groups on a variety of adolescent issues including parenting, substance abuse, risk taking, and the transition to adulthood.

Currently and for the last many years I work in the Albany Schools as the Mental Health Coordinator for Albany Middle School and Macgregor High School. I provide individual therapy to students, meet with parents, run trauma groups for at-risk youth of color and co-facilitate the intern training program.
